Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI) Animal Health Senior Vice President Dr. Erasmus Paderes will be among the global experts called to lecture on antibiotic stewardship in animals in an international conference, June 7-9.
The 5th International Conference on Responsible Use of Antibiotics in Animals will be held online and will feature veterinary and epidemiological experts all over the world.
Being the Philippines’ first and only company to produce chicken without ever using antibiotics, BAVI has been sharing its experience in various local and international forums since launching its Zero Antibiotics Chicken program in 2017.

Health experts say that not using antibiotics in chicken production is crucial to combat the global menace of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which renders humans vulnerable to antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
“BAVI is committed to producing healthy chicken through the Zero Antibiotics Chicken program,” said Dr Paderes. “This benefits not only our customers, but also the global fight against AMR which, if no action is done, is projected to kill 10 million people by 2050.”
In October last year, BAVI partnered with the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association in organizing the World Antimicrobial Awareness Week Webinar, with speakers from the Department of Health, Bureau of Animal Industry, and the World Health Organization.
