Flying to the southernmost part of the Philippines — Tawi-Tawi — Chooks-to-Go of Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI) joined campaign partners Ayala Foundation, National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), Philippine National Police, and Department of Education (PNP) in handing out flags yesterday to school heads at the DepEd Division Office in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
BAVI’s Head for Mindanao Operations Carlos Pelayo Jr., Ayala Foundation President Ruel Maranan, and NHCP Head of Heraldry Teddy Atienza distributed more than 200 flags at DepEd Tawi-Tawi Division Office.
Officer-in-Charge Dr. Khalim Abdulwahid accepted the flags amid colleagues, after a flag ceremony with students.
Speaking on behalf of BAVI President Ronald Mascariñas, Pelayo reminded the audience about being “magiting through one’s ordinary duties.”
He noted that teachers are crucial in promoting patriotism because students take cue from teachers in loving their native land.
The Maging Magiting Flag Campaign aims to promote love of country by giving 10,000 flags to public schools and police precincts nationwide.
More than 8,000 flags have now been distributed.
The campaign is set to go to Batanes next week to complete its tour through all regions of the Philippines.
