You know a retail business is alive when its supply chain is running. Materials and equipment are stored and transported where they’re needed, anywhere in the country, and without delay — even during a pandemic.
In BAVI’s case, that herculean task is handled partly by people at our Parian (Calamba) facility.
For them, “herculean” can get quite literal these days. With some of our cargo/warehouse partners closing for the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine, our Warehouse, Demand Planning, and Customer Service teams now have to double their efforts (and even do some real heavy lifting sometimes). They are now stocking and moving many of the materials that used to be kept in our partner warehouses. They had to hire extra help and assure their safety as well.
With public transportation banned, our supply chain staff also has to collaborate and share resources. For instance, transport personnel play chauffeur to their colleagues, just so they could all shuttle between home and work safely.
All this and more so our stores and other facilities continue to get necessary supplies in these uncertain times.
Salamat po sa inyong serbisyo at sakripisyo — kayo ay tunay na mga Manok ng Bayan!
