My dear colleagues:
We are being pummeled by the coronavirus pandemic and severely constrained by the hard-driving responses of the government and people to contain it. Whether directly or indirectly, it is hitting everyone, including our families and our business.
Do not fear.
The current crisis is unprecedented. But it is not the crisis, however daunting, that matters — it is strength of our character.
Our company was forged by crisis. We have faced many difficult challenges before and, time and again, we have shown to ourselves that we do not only survive: we thrive on them. The crisis may be different today, but we are the same men and women of unflagging tenacity and boundless courage.
Let us put our faith on ourselves as before. I assure you that, with the same diligence and cooperation you have always demonstrated, we shall overcome this crisis. And we shall overcome this crisis together.
For your perseverance and dedication to the company, often beyond the call of duty, I want to thank you all: our vets for overseeing our farms; our feed mill personnel for keeping our birds from starving; our processing plant personnel for ensuring that we have chicken to sell every day; our store technicians for keeping our stores humming; and our sales personnel serving wet markets, supermarkets, and retail stores.
You continue to go out of your homes and brave the challenges posed by the restrictions on our streets, every single day, to serve our customers and partners.
I wish to let you all know that I am fully aware of your great sacrifices to save the company. In my book, you are all heroes.
I want you all to be rest assured that I commit to help you and your families through this difficult time. This is the least I could do for you.
Let us all work together to regain our normal lives and continue to prosper, alongside our families, as with the rest of our countrymen.
I am deeply grateful for your service.
With hope and confidence,
Ronald Mascariñas
