Chooks-to-Go, through Gilas and hopefully the PBA, continues to preach sportsmanship.
Not many companies will invest so much time and money because of an advocacy. But Bounty Agro Ventures Inc., the company behind Chooks-to-Go, is not one of those companies.
Boss Ronald Mascariñas, in an interview with Bloomberg, recalled why Chooks-to-Go entered into a partnership with Gilas Pilipinas.
“We were looking for a team to match our advocacy of sportsmanship. So when the team was looking for a sponsor, we volunteered our services,” shared Mascariñas, one of the boosters for the Gilas program. “Normally, a sponsorship is just one year, we locked in a four-year deal to advance our advocacy for sportsmanship.”
This vision to promote the value of sportsmanship is what fuels Chooks-to-Go to send Gilas accross the farthest corners of the Philippines. Moreover, Chooks-to-Go knows that the basketball-loving Philippines want Gilas to play at the biggest of stages which is the Olympics. And the company vows that they will help the country reach that dream.
“A lot of Filipinos who are passionate about basketball nangangarap na sana makalaro rin ang Pilipinas sa Olympics. That’s why we are investing, really to support that passion of the Filipino people,” he said.
To further spread this value, Mascariñas is dead set on entering the PBA, the country’s number one sporting league.
“We are now in negotiations to enter the PBA. Hopefully, by the end of the year, Chooks-to-Go will have a PBA team,” he vowed.
As they say, the best thing is sports is not winning but rather being remembered.
