Ronald Mascariñas is the President and General Manager of Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI) since 2002.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of the Philippines (UP) Los Baños as a Cocofed scholar and his master’s degree in Management from the Asian Institute of Management as a full-time scholar of Pure Foods Corporation. He also completed a course from the International Law Institute, Washington DC, on the Rights and Obligations of Developing Countries under the World Trade Organization.
In 2004, he was commended by his alma mater as a Distinguished Alumnus in the field of Entrepreneurship. He was also awarded by his peers in the poultry industry a Plaque of Excellence for his outstanding leadership as the President of the Philippine Association of Broiler Integrators from 1999 to 2001.
In 2014, he was named Most Outstanding Professional by Superbrands Marketing International, Inc., and in 2015 he garnered the Communication and Leadership Award from Toastmasters International, which is the highest award that Toastmasters can bestow to a non-member.
In 2018, he was lauded as an Outstanding Leader in Asia by the Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability (ACES) Awards in Singapore and as part of the Circle of Excellence in the Global Filipino Executive category of the Asia CEO Awards.
In 2019, he was named Outstanding Alumnus in Agricultural Entrepreneurship by the UP Los Banos Alumni Association and as Distinguished Alumnus in Entrepreneurship and Employment Creation by the UP Alumni Association. He was also recognized as Mentor of the Year in the Asia Leaders Awards in 2019, and as Man of the Year – Poultry Industry in 2020. Also last year, Investors in People, a global people management consulting firm, ranked Mascariñas among the international finalists for its Leader of the Year award.
Prior to joining BAVI, Mascariñas served Pure Foods Corporation for 19 years where he started his career and rose through the ranks to become one of the company’s youngest Senior Vice Presidents at age 38. He capped his career with Pure Foods Corporation as head of three business units: Poultry, Food Service, and as president of the Smokey’s fast food chain.
Mascariñas is an active member of the Makati Business Club and the Management Association of the Philippines. He is also a frequent speaker and lecturer in various industry associations and universities.
Today Mascariñas is a staunch advocate of love of country through sports. His support for the country’s national athletes, particularly in basketball, is evident in his founding of the FIBA-approved Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 program and hosting international conferences such as the 3×3 Super Quest and the Manila Challenger in 2019. His dream is to send the Philippines’ first 3×3 team to the Olympics, inspiring pride and patriotism among Filipinos.
