Our employees in Calamba City, Laguna, recently banded together to give joy to kids at the Children’s Joy Foundation orphanage in Brgy. Canlubang, Calamba City.
Eighteen children welcomed our staff, who brought gifts and a hearty Chooks-to-Go meal last Saturday. Our staff also donated beds and cabinets to the orphanage.
According to activity organizer Cristel Villarin, the visit was the output of her leadership project under her Toastmasters club.
“We raised funds by selling shirts and collecting donations from colleagues,” she said. “This is to help the children know that we love them.”
Our staff’s visit included games, a flash mob performance, and a dance presentation from the kids as a way of thanking our team.
According to learning and development manager Abigail Rivera, BAVI is committed to providing employees opportunities to enhance their leadership and communication skills.
“Taking advantage of the Toastmasters curriculum, which combines leadership and communication projects, is a great way for our people to improve themselves professionally and personally,” she said.
