PASIG CITY — Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI) has a new Vice President to head its Supply Chain Management (SCM) department: Gerald Cezar Quelapio.
Born in Lucena City and an alumnus the University of the Philippines Diliman (magna cum laude), Quelapio rose to become part of the crème de la crème of the local supply chain management industry.
In 1986, he nabbed the top spot in the Mechanical Engineering licensure exam. He had since showed his worth and mettle as a leader in various capacities and companies: Fujitsu Philippines, San Miguel Corporation, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation, Del Monte Philippines, Inc., and Ramcar Batteries International, Ltd. (Motolite).
Quelapio’s range of skills also includes health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE) management and human resource management.
When asked about his leadership philosophy, Quelapio said, “Leadership is essentially working with and working through people. The best indicator that you have been able to lead people is if they have come to a point where they can already replace you, that you have taught them what you know, and that they would, at some point, stand on your shoulders.”
